For this project, we tackled album cover creation. The first step was picking our song - I chose Drew Barrymore by SZA because I felt like I could accurately capture the feelings of drowning your jealousy in the party scene with few images. This piece is entirely pictorial, curated from found images online, layer masks, and typography. I chose the imagery based on lyrics of the song - the woman in glass being described as "she's perfect and I hate it", the glass dripping with glitter describing "why's it so hard to accept the party is over?". The most difficult element of this project was creating the see through effect of the glass and glitter, which I created through layer manipulation, the eraser tool, and opacity. I did the same with the lipstick smudge on the side of the glass.
